E.ON Wasserkraft is Germany's leading generator of renewable energy and is also one of the top players in the European renewables sector. Headquartered in Landshut, Bavaria, the company operates more than 130 hydroelectric power stations on the Danube, Inn, Isar, Main, Lech, Eder, Diemel, Fulda, Werra, Weser, and Leine rivers. Some of these it owns; others it manages under contract.

E.ON Wasserkraft's generation fleet consists mainly of run-of-river power stations, which are operated 24/7 for continuous, base-load supply. The company's portfolio also includes storage and pumped-storage power stations, which can be brought on line quickly to meet peak-load demand.
